Caring Community:

What role do we play in our community?

I have always had plans and ideas to connect people and create fun and exciting get togethers, for like-minded people.  As we grow up we crave connection and to fit in, sometimes in fear of rejection we close off or become judgemental, but as group species we require love and community to thrive. We all have our great skills and abilities and coming together with others to share and create is so fulfilling. There are always people needed for volunteering, for different charities, for people to talk to, for our ability to be more in service and humble.

I frequently ask myself how I can make a contribution to my community or a social or global problem, how can many amazing people coming together not achieve greatness and growth. I have started sharing more people with each other through my own contacts and feel a sense of community globally, fortunately I have been able to make some amazing and like-minded friends all over the world. The internet and travel has made this very easy, skyping and facebook, for business and communication. We can all contribute in some way to the groups we are a part of, we all have value to share, either words, actions, knowledge, creative gifts, kind words, an ear to listen, experiences to share.

As I embark on new journeys to connect more people globally and see a vision of a positive and united world, the focus on connection, family, health and community is so strong. It is natural within my star signs to have this drive to connect others and to create platforms for people to connect and grow together.  For me I am doing this through online programs, community groups, hugs events, global connections and collaborations, sharing with people, connecting people, sharing my story, knowledge and experience, services for growth, contributing to other causes, volunteering and donations. We all have so much to offer and when we allow ourselves to be present to what we can give and not just what we receive, our capacity to receive grows, we feel gratitude and we can feel humble and fulfilled in new ways.

As the world gets more challenging with Laws, Separation of people and nations, Judgement and Stigma, we each hold a responsibility for our future, our youth and those of the future generations. If we are not part of the solution, we become part of the problem. Whatever is close to your heart, reach out to it, align to a path of passion, conviction, making a difference, connection and peace.

If you are not doing something already to contribute to a community, either online or in person, near or far, I encourage it, to feel connected. So many studies have shown that when we join a group of people to make a difference, help the less fortunate, create a movement, do something meaningful together, it raises happiness, connection and collectively makes a great impact socially and globally. We will also feel more fulfilled and a sense of purpose and meaning in our lives, we can create greater bonds with people and this lowers the chance of burn out, illness, mental health challenges and overall improves the quality of life. Have a look online for things in your area, facebook groups or meetups for like-minded people getting together to make the difference you are passionate about, allowing you to grow your skills, feel connected and like you are contributing to a legacy or greater tomorrow.
